Privacy policy (product draft)
Written for school officials evaluating Lumen under FERPA and COPPA educational-purpose norms.
What we collect
Account identifiers (name, email), organization and class membership, grade band, lesson progress, quiz attempts, and lab results. We minimize student PII and do not require Social Security numbers or precise home addresses.
How we use data
Solely to provide educational services requested by the school or campus: instruction, progress reporting, and product operation. We do not sell student personal information. We do not use student content to train foundation models.
Children under 13
When used as a school-authorized educational service, schools may provide consent for COPPA purposes consistent with FTC guidance for edtech, limited to educational use. Under-13 experiences exclude open social features and marketing communications.
School control & deletion
Organizations control teacher and student accounts in their tenant. Upon contract termination, Lumen will export and/or delete education records as specified in the data processing agreement.
